The SPC system analysed streams of discrete measurements from complex mechanical systems.

The repetitive nature of the mechanical system lent itself to statistical analysis. The system allowed the user to define a component hierarchy, and the relationships between different components using CalcEnginePlus under the hood.

The system was implemented as a windows service with a web UI. It operated continuously, scanning the second order derived data streams looking for patterns that indicated impending failure. It would alert by email and SMS

When warnings and alerts occurred, personnel could take advantage of normal operational gaps to perform preventative maintenance, or prioritise component replacement for the next scheduled shutdown.
